**Description** SAIC is looking for a **Software Engineer** for a position **located in San Diego, CA.** This position supports the Joint Cross Domain eXchange (JCDX) program. **JOB DUTIES:** + The candidate shall perform software engineering design and development activities to produce reliable, modular, and secure software components. + The work will include development of software on a RHEL OS platform. + This will include software development with custom C++ based applications, X windows-based applications, and web-based middleware. + Development will consist of application writing and policy for security accreditations. **Qualifications** **REQUIREMENTS:** + Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. + Must be a U.S. Citizen. + Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start. + Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance after start. + 3-5 years industry experience designing, building, and maintaining large scale systems in production. + Experience with C++. + Experience working with Nginx or Apache servers with a solid background in Linux. + Strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems. + Expertise in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, React, CSS3 and HTML5 and third-party libraries such as React Js, Angular, jQuery and LESS. + Familiarity with DBMS technology, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB and MySQL. + Basic design ability: Including knowledge of UI/UX and basic prototype design. + Excellent understanding of low-level operating systems concepts including multi-threading, memory management, networking and storage, performance, and scale. + Ability to visualize a proposed system and be able to build it.
