Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Solve complex business problems through innovation and engineering best practices. Proficiency in all aspects of agile software development lifecycle. Apply agile methodologies with automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery methods, application resiliency & security as well as various cloud architectural standards. Utilize requirement analysis, building design specifications, and solutioning & development of secure, high quality software components. Identify & troubleshoot technical problems by thinking out of the box & beyond conventional approaches to problem solving. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to architectural standards & software best practices. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into design & overall solution. Participate in sprint planning sessions with product owners, product managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Collaborate with clients and business stakeholders & proactively propose solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Computer Programmer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Spring; Java; Python; AWS Cloud Services; Apache Spark; Design complex cloud native, highly performant large-scale data products using microservices, MongoDB, Databricks, AWS, EKS, OpenSearch, and Terraform; Build highly scalable software with REST, SpringBoot & proficiency in automation & continuous delivery; Automate pipelines to migrate large scale Hadoop data to AWS using Spark, Java, and Python; Financial services industry & the related IT systems; and Utilize DevOps.
