DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Serve as a member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Execute critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. Participate in every phase of software development including design, development, testing and deployment of software. Follow best practices for developing high quality and secure software that provides business value and aligns with firm's CTC requirements. Proactively identify hidden problems and drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture. Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies. Apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems. Conduct production releases, incident and SME support as required. Participate in scrum team stand-ups, code reviews and other ceremonies, collaborate with product, CTC, clients and stakeholders to form the requirements. Contribute to task completion and blocker resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Utilizing Kanban Agile Software Development Lifecycle methodologies; Resolving production bugs and performing SRE activities; Applying architecture disciplines to develop scalable and robust systems; Developing user interfaces in frontend using frameworks with React and Angular; Developing multiple Java SpringBoot REST APIs with microservices architecture; Deploying microservices on cloud platforms, including AWS and on -premise infrastructure; Writing unit tests and integration tests using java frameworks including Junit and Mockito; Performing releases and testing to verify performance and scaling of services; Using build automation tools, including Maven and Gradle, for backend service development; Passing data between different services using JSON and GSON libraries; Using CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins to deploy code; working with multiple source code repositories including Git and Gitlab; Working with version control system including Git; Creating new stories using JIRA and project management tools such as features, spikes and bugs; Collaborating in agile teams using SCRUM SDLC methodologies; building server- side monolithic backend applications; Developing shell scripts using PowerShell for deployment of applications in Different environments including PROD, TEST and UAT; Designing backend database architecture in MS SQL by writing queries and using stored procedures and jobs; Managing and maintaining source code lifecycle.
