Software Engineer, Manager
Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Software Engineer, Manager in New York, New York.

Work You’ll Do
Responsible for the design, analysis, development, implementation, and deployment of new data-driven, web-based applications, and for providing support for existing systems. Lead a team of developers to deliver end-to-end web solutions for moderate to complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Supervise and mentor staff team members. Develop and maintain software frameworks and services using the HANA and SAP analytical technologies. Interact with business analysts and client stakeholders to understand business problems being addressed. Review project requirements and estimate the necessary time-to-completion. Carry out code reviews and unit testing of new development. Document new developments, procedures or test plans as needed. Interact with other development teams to ensure a consistent, uniform approach to software development. Follow software development best practices to maximize the predictability and success of projects. Deploy all integration artifacts to testing and production environments. Develop new service offerings and technology solutions to assist in delivery tax services to clients. Assist in the design, analysis, development, implementation, and deployment of new data driven web-based applications and provide support for existing systems. Ensure that unique business needs are properly translated to provide technology solutions. Monitor, analyze, and report on technology solutions over the entire software development lifecycle, and manage the success and evolution of tools in the marketplace. Work with all stakeholders to create business cases and identify and confirm necessary resources throughout the product lifecycle. Cross-coordinate and regularly communicate with other product owners to facilitate cross-team collaboration and prioritize and maintain a comprehensive product backlog for all products in the technology portfolio.

Requirements
Master’s degree in Engineering, Management Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three years of experience as a Software Engineer, Manager or related occupation gaining experience developing enterprise reporting applications using SAP Business Objects and performing ETL processes using SAP Business Objects data services.
Experience must include three years of:
1. utilizing SAP HANA and SAP Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) reporting to calculate and generate reports based on clients’ requirements and financial relations;
2. developing SAP HANA models, SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS) components, SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT) replications, and SQL procedures to perform CRUD and ETL operations on HANA and SQL databases;
3. assisting project leaders with application failsafe management and testing, and with cloud migration for various products;
4. deploying code through SAP CHARM, configuring management tools, including SAP CTS+, and project development methods including Waterfall Model and Agile Methodology;
5. developing unit test cases for newly developed features, and implementing optimized designs by maintaining standard and secure coding practices;
6. interfacing with business analysts and clients to understand business problems, translating business needs into functional and nonfunctional requirements, creating technical design documents, and ensuring the delivery of appropriate technical solutions;
7. collaborating with a team of developers to deliver end-to-end reporting and web solutions and assisting with the day-to-day activities of a development team in an Agile environment;
8. designing and building applications, and designing data objects, functions, and stored procedures in SAP HANA; and
9. collaborating with designers, business users and engineers to adopt proof of concept aimed at the technical feasibility of product features and performing application optimization through implementation of best coding practices and standards.

Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week;
Annual Salary: $179,982.00 - $272,090.00
