About the Role
As a Developer Efficiency Engineer in SBU Connectivity, you will drive improvements in software development efficiency across detailed design, unit construction, and unit verification. You will streamline workflows, apply AI‑based productivity tools, build automation, and use data‑driven insights to enhance development practices. This role requires a strategic‑thinking software engineer with strong technical depth and a natural drive to eliminate inefficiencies, automate repetitive tasks, and improve developer experience.
What You Will Do
Process & Workflow Efficiency
Analyse software development workflows related to detailed design, unit construction, and unit verification to identify efficiency gaps.Support the adoption of efficient development practices that improve productivity, quality, and delivery outcomes.Automation & AI-Based Productivity
Apply automation frameworks and AI‑based productivity tools to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.Assess the effectiveness of automation and AI initiatives using measurable outcomes.Metrics Dashboards & Insights
Develop and maintain dashboards to track development efficiency, throughput, and agile metrics.Analyze data from development tools to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.Continuous Improvement
Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives using structured approaches such as experimentation, piloting, and iterative refinement.Support scaling of proven improvements across teams to enhance developer experience and delivery performance.Collaboration & Enablement
Work closely with delivery teams to support adoption of efficient development practices.Provide data‑driven insights and recommendations to improve ways of working across projects.What You Need
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive software development with practical exposure to software development lifecycle activities such as design, implementation, testing, or verification.Experience applying automation frameworks and AI‑based productivity approaches to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and enhance developer workflows.Familiarity with responsible and scalable use of AI tools within engineering environments, including awareness of data quality, validation, and governance considerations.Experience using engineering and Agile metrics to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.Comfortable working with dashboards, reports, and data‑driven insights to support decision making and measure outcomes.What is Nice to Have
Strong experience in Automotive Software Development Frameworks.Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or development platforms.Interest in improving developer experience, productivity, and engineering effectiveness.Curiosity and willingness to experiment with emerging AI capabilities and translate successful pilots into repeatable, team level improvements.What Makes You Eligible
