About the job

 

The SAS Visual Forecasting team is looking for a Software Developer Engineer in Test to enable the continuous delivery of high-quality software to our customers. Our team builds cutting-edge applications that empower our customers to make decisions that depend on accurate forecasts of large amounts of time varying data. We do this by providing highly customizable low code/no code interface to advanced analytical modeling techniques via state-of-the-art, multi-tier, cloud native architecture.

 As a Software Developer Engineer in Test, you will:   

Create and maintain high quality of test automation using modern development techniques and provide key data points to support metrics-based decision making.Apply automated tests at every layer of the application stack, both inside and outside of the continuous delivery pipeline.Produce systems and metrics to monitor application performance at various levels of granularity.Create or enhance test automation that validates that applications are correctly globalized by adhering to internationalization standards.Work with team to promptly triage test failures to maintain the health of the build pipeline, and promptly report performance degradations and failures to comply with i18n standards.Work collaboratively with development, product, operations, and support peers to encourage quality, as a key design element in all work efforts.Protect users from escaped defects, participate in support escalations, and value Customer Experience (CX) above all.Be encouraged to participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS. Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. Required qualifications 

You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.5+ years of hands-on experience with two of the following programming languages: Python, Golang, Java, Groovy, or Java Script.Proficient in test automation frameworks such as Pytest and PlaywrightExperience working with a REST-based architecture with a solid understanding of REST API design and usageExperience working with cloud-hosted applications and familiarity with at least one public cloud provider: Azure, AWS, or GCP.Exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub Workflows and Actions with proficiency in source control tools, such as GitEquivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Exposure to internationalization and localization testingFluent in state-of-the-art techniques, standards, and procedures for software test developmentExperience testing microservice and event driven architecturesUnderstanding of Kubernetes components or similar frameworks.Experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and PrometheusExperience with SAS Visual Forecasting and SAS programmingAbility to pivot quickly and seamlessly toward areas of needResponds constructively to criticism, striving to become better every dayAdds value to teams independently with minimal guidance.Strong interpersonal skills that meet or exceed the needs of the team.
