Join the Amazon Global Logistics Cross Border Fulfillment (XBF) team in developing innovative solutions that enable sellers to reach customers worldwide. You'll be part of building highly-available, scalable distributed systems that create seamless interfaces between sellers, customers, and Amazon's software. Our Pan-Region FBA program has become the default FBA selling experience for European marketplace Sellers, processing billions of transactions daily.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable architectures and system components handling high-volume business programs
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to solve complex business scenarios
- Contribute to technical design discussions and architecture decisions
- Mentor junior engineering team members and promote engineering excellence
- Maintain system reliability and reduce operational overhead
- Partner with teams across Amazon (Offer Management, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Optimization) to deliver integrated solutions
- Participate in code reviews and ensure high code quality standards
A day in the life
As an SDE-II, you'll start your day collaborating with senior engineers to clarify business requirements and design solutions. You might attend technical design meetings, write code for new features, or mentor junior team members. You'll work closely with product managers to understand business needs and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards. Your day may include troubleshooting production issues, optimizing system performance, and contributing to technical documentation.
About the team
The Pan-Region FBA team is dedicated to increasing FBA selection, lowering prices, and enabling faster delivery times for customers. We achieve this by:
- Creating frictionless experiences for third-party Selling Partners
- Enabling inventory inbound to any EU Fulfillment Center
- Integrating with Supply Chain Optimization Systems for optimal inventory distribution
- Managing complex cross-border logistics
- Innovating to expand the Pan-Region FBA business across Amazon's retail stack
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
