The Software Developer designs, develops, and maintains high-quality software solutions that support business and customer needs. This role delivers features and capabilities for both internal employees and external customers and may configure or customize vendor-provided packaged software. Working under immediate supervision, the Software Developer applies independent judgment to moderately complex technical issues, collaborates primarily within the department, and occasionally works with confidential information. This position is intended for an experienced developer who can work independently while continuing to grow technical and business expertise.
Responsibilities:Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions aligned with business and customer requirementsDeliver user-facing features and enhancements for internal and external applicationsConfigure and customize vendor-provided packaged software to meet user needsAnalyze, troubleshoot, and resolve moderately complex software issues and defectsParticipate in all phases of the software development lifecycle using agile methodologiesDevelop and maintain APIs for internal and external productsCollaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate technical conceptsMaintain accurate technical documentation and comply with confidentiality and security standards Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in a related field Two to seven years of experience as a software engineerExperience with Azure cloud engineering and cloud-based application developmentProficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, .NET, or JavaUnderstanding of software development lifecycles and agile development methodologiesExperience building APIs for internal and external applicationsWorking knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles and practicesExperience using agile planning tools such as Azure DevOpsBasic knowledge of database management systems including SQL and NoSQLStrong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate complex technical information clearly in writing and verballyStrong attention to detail with the ability to document defects accuratelyExcellent customer service skillsInsurance industry knowledge, including property and casualty concepts, preferred but not required Work Authorization & Employment Status Requirement
