Software Asset Management Specialist
Job Description We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Asset Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving cost savings and efficiencies. This will primarily be achieved by managing our software and SaaS renewals process and performing periodic assessments of software and SaaS products tied to Role Based Access profiles. Responsibilities: ● Manage software and SaaS renewals and true-ups, ensuring the standard framework is followed, and license positions are optimized ahead of renewal negotiations. ● Lead the annual Microsoft true-up and reconciliation process. ● Lead application decommission and consolidation projects, helping streamline the application portfolio and drive cost savings. ● Empower negotiations and decisions with data. With an eye on driving savings, perform detailed analysis as part of the software and SaaS renewals process, providing recommendations to reductions or increases in license quantities and subscription levels based upon installation, login, usage and engagement information. ● Work with partner teams to add software and SaaS cost information to the Role Based Access profile process, enabling managers to make better decisions around the software included in their teams’ profiles. ● Perform periodic reviews of Role Based Access profiles. Identify the level of usage of paid software and SaaS products associated with roles and provide recommendations when roles need to be reassessed due to low license utilization. ● Perform ad hoc software and SaaS utilization reviews as needed. ● Populate contract and license data into software asset management and SaaS management tools (e.g. Flexera and Productiv). ● Drive the development and implementation of automated license reclamation and reharvesting rules, in partnership with various teams across Technology Services and other partner teams across the company. ● Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. ● Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as Procurement, Legal, Finance, and partner teams within Technology Services to ensure timelines are met and all necessary parties are involved. Skills and Requirements ● A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT asset management, software asset management, and/or renewals management. ● Strong understanding of ITAM/ITSM processes and best practices. ● Strong understanding of Microsoft licensing. ● Proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and visualization tools, such as Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools. ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. ● Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills. ● Ability to adapt to changing business needs and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. ● Experience with zero-code technologies, such as Airtable is a plus. ● Jira experience is a plus. ● Prior work experience in the Games or Media Content industries is highly desirable.
