Overview It is the responsibility of the soft count clerk to ensure funds from Table Games and Slot bill validator drops along with other revenue centers are properly accounted for according to GCB minimum standards. Responsibilities Opening Drop Boxes - Remove a box from cart, grab key, open box, and remove all contents from box. Verify empty box to another person and camera. Ensure that top slot remains open with latch in place. Put empty box on cart and remove a full box from cart. Prior to opening new box, assist in sorting and counting, especially chips. Stack bills, remove documents, and separate various bills. Recorder - Take documents; put them in order, record counts of promotional and foreign chips and vouchers. Place documents and chip and voucher count with money in Plexiglas bin for the machine operator. Machine Operator – Runs money through currency counter, manually adds chip into counter. Upon completion of each table count, ends batch and clips receipt from counter with all corresponding documents. Give all documents to the computer operator. Everyone's task after count is completed is to verify overall count for accuracy, Load drop into transport cart. Call Cage for transfer. Drop Team – Remove full drop boxes from slot machines and replace with empty boxes. Bill Validator count duties are the same as Table Games without the paperwork and chips. Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate. Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results. Ability to use a ten-key calculator. Must be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming Registration. Minimum age is 21. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience preferred but not necessary. Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities. Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures. Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities. Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.
