1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period)8-hour day shiftsNo weekendsThis position is on the inpatient mental health unit(s) at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, United Hospital + Mercy/Unity Hospital (Unity Campus). The float social workers have system roles which offers unique perspective, Sometimes the float social worker will cover for one day, other times for extended periods covering staff PTO and other leaves. The floats are well known and appreciated at each site and have the opportunity to connect with all the mental health social workers, interdisciplinary teams, and patients across the Allina system. This role is great for someone who likes jumping in on new cases and thrives in fast paced environment that requires a lot of problem solving. Every patient on an Inpatient Mental Health unit is assigned to a Mental Health Social Worker for the duration of their hospital stay. The Inpatient Mental Health Social Worker works very closely with the multidisciplinary inpatient care team including the psychiatrist/nurse practitioner, nurse, psychologist, internal medicine provider, clinical therapy group staff, mental health coordinator, pharmacy and additional team members as needed. In this role, the social worker will meet with patients to completes a comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment, assist with civil commitment/court related paperwork, exams and hearings as needed, coordinate with outpatient supports/providers/care team, and help to develop a comprehensive discharge plan for each patient to ensure they have the support needed for a successful transition back into the community. For those seeking licensure – For full-time employees, we offer 4 hours of Clinical Supervision per month (2 Individual clinical supervision hours and 2 Group clinical supervision hours). Provides patients and families with the psychosocial support needed to cope with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses. Services include advising family care givers, providing patient education and counseling, and making referrals for other services. May also provide care and case management or interventions designed to promote health, prevent disease, and address barriers to access to healthcare.

Pay Range: $31.07 to $49.76 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
