Social Value Delivery Lead

As a Social Value Delivery Manager, you'll play a central role in bringing our Plan Thrive strategy to life. Working alongside a passionate network of Social Value Managers and our dedicated Social Value Team, you'll turn opportunities into action and ensure meaningful, measurable social impact is woven into everything we do. 

As part of this role, you will: 

Lead the design, delivery and reporting of social value commitments across the  contract.  Establish and facilitate outcome driven, effective partnerships with stakeholders, local SMEs, key strategic local partners and employers aligned to contract commitments, to ensure that social value benefits contribute to development of employment opportunities and skills.  Drive measurable engagement with the community, leading initiatives contributing to local resilience, growth and economic development objectives aligned to contract commitments  Support the contract with staff engagement initiatives to embed Mitie's values and policies benefiting people and the environment.     

 

Main Duties 

Social Value Delivery Management  

Translate social value commitments into a clear, actionable Social Value Delivery Plan.  Oversee consistent delivery of commitments across the contract.  Manage the social value delivery budget effectively.  Align the Delivery Plan with contract workstreams and supply chain partners.  Monitor progress against KPIs and targets, ensuring timely reporting.  Identify new opportunities for social value throughout the project lifecycle.  Champion bestpractice delivery methods across the contract. 

 

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

Build strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders to support delivery of contract commitments and Plan Thrive.  This may include Local Authorities, community groups, VCSEs, supply chain partners, and education providers.  Activities may involve coordinating apprenticeships, supporting supply chain delivery, and encouraging local business engagement.  Work in partnership with the Mitie Foundation to ensure alignment with wider group programmes and campaigns.  Ensure the contract is represented across all Mitie ED&I networks.  Represent Mitie at community events, forums, and partnership meetings. 

 

Data, Reporting & Compliance

Track, measure, and report all contract social value outcomes using the Thrive Platform, ensuring all data is recorded and reported in accordance with both Mitie and contractual requirements  Produce highquality reports for clients and Mitie leadership teams, including the creation of compelling case studies and MiNET articles  Keep abreast of political, environmental, and social changes, identifying community/volunteering opportunities and risks  Ensure compliance with contractual and procurement requirements.   Provide evidencebased insights to improve future delivery. 

 

Internal Collaboration & Culture Building 

Train and support the contract team to integrate social value into everyday practice.  Champion a culture of sustainability, inclusion, and community impact  Work closely with HR, procurement, sustainability, and our Social Value Manager network to share best practice and drive innovations. 

 

What we are looking for 

A passion for social value, ED&I and social mobility  Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate social value commitments into practical delivery plans  Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse community, publicsector, and supplychain partners  Able to develop and nurture long term lasting relationships with the client, staff, subcontractors and other service suppliers. Acting with integrity always and with a diligent approach to organising work and dealing with customer  Robust project management capability, including managing multiple contract activities to budget simultaneously and meeting deadlines  High level of competence in social value measurement, data analysis, and impact reporting frameworks  Clear, persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence presenting to senior audiences  Leadership qualities that enable influence, coaching, and driving cultural change across teams and suppliers  Solid understanding of publicsector procurement, sustainability principles, and community development practices
