Job Summary

The College of Innovation & Technology is looking for social media content creators to highlight student life and campus life for social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter (X), TikTok, as well as other emerging social media platforms. Please review CIT social media posts prior to applying for examples, and prepare a portfolio of screenshots of your social media content for the hiring committee to review.

Responsibilities*Sourcing and creation of organic social media content, including photo, video, and text for posts - minimum of one post per weekWork with social media manager to schedule postingsVideo editing of raw footage for social mediaPhoto editing for social mediaNetworking with CIT faculty, staff, other students, and student clubs and organizations to collect information for content creationSocial media takeoversAttending meetings biweekly to discuss social media strategy
Required Qualifications*Must be a current UM-Flint student in a College of Innovation & Technology program, graduate or undergraduate
 Must have an current social media presence and an awareness of social media trends
 Must have a willingness to attend CIT functions, events, etc.
Desired Qualifications*Collaborative and willing to take direction, be open to feedback
 Ability to meet deadlines
 Ability to follow marketing and branding requirements
 Video and photo editing skills
 Experience with Canva and Capcut preferred
 Comfortable in front of a camera
Modes of Work

Hybrid
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Background Screening
