The Social team is responsible for telling Uber’s story in an engaging, inspiring, humanizing, and innovative way across our channels. We develop creative content ourselves, build relationships with key influencers and creators, and launch new products and partnerships in a Social-first way.
As an Associate on the Social Media team, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing strategic social plans for Uber in a vibrant social media environment. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to bring new products, partnerships, campaigns, and events to life on our channels. This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, project management, strong iPhone shooting and editing skills, an eye for graphic design, thumb-stopping content ideas, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
**What the Candidate Will Do**
- Manage day-to-day social media responsibilities across our channels.
- Shoot, edit, and create original content (both videos & graphics) for new products, partnerships, campaigns, and initiatives that will live on our handles.
- Craft clear and compelling social plans for both timely and evergreen content initiatives, and understand how organic and paid content strategies work together.
- Attend and capture content at events and company moments.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including Communications, Marketing, Operations, Product, Legal, and more.
- Collect, analyze, and use relevant data to inform smart content choices to engage and grow audiences, as well as collaborate on regular social reporting and analytics.
- Support relationships with key influencers and creators across categories.
**Basic Qualifications**
- 3 to 5 years of proven social media experience with a deep understanding of the major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube) and their respective audiences, features, and best practices.
- An outstanding video shooter and editor with an eye for graphic design. You capture high-quality content with intent, and edit seamlessly no matter the subject.
- Proficient in: Adobe Premiere and/or Capcut for video editing, and Canva and/or Photoshop for graphic creation.
- An excellent writer who writes clear, concise, and snappy copy, and has no trouble distilling complex announcements into simple, engaging, and entertaining content.
- User-first orientation, with strong intuition and taste for what resonates at Uber.
- Understand how organic and paid content strategies work together.
- A team player who enjoys working closely with cross-functional stakeholders and stays calm under pressure. Success at Uber depends on the ability to partner internally and externally, and organize around shared goals.
- A go-getter who looks forward to rolling up their sleeves, building things from the bottom up, while being highly organized, with an ability to manage multiple workflows in a fast-paced environment.
- A creative strategist who can spot a trend from a mile away and leverage data-driven insights to craft impactful, relevant content that aligns with Uber’s business goals.
- Advanced proficiency in English and fluency in Brazilian Portuguese.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Communications, editorial planning, and graphic design/video editing experience.
- Influencer, creator, and talent management experience.
- BrandWatch and Sprinklr familiarity.
