SOCIAL IMPACT MANAGERReporting to the Social Impact Lead and as part of the Commercial capability, the role is to support on the collaborative development of the Social Impact Strategy & Delivery plan, managing the delivery of SMART sustainability objectives.
To support the Social Impact Lead in the delivery of the Social Impact Delivery Plan and to support them in developing innovative Solutions that meet its objectives.
Implementation of our Social Impact Employment and Skills plan – design, develop and manage social value and specifically skills and employment activities aligned to local and client needs. This includes engagement with key stakeholder, including communities and partners.
Stakeholder engagement – identification of key internal and external stakeholder, development, and management of these relationships to deliver social impact/skills and employment priorities. This includes forming partnerships with public and third sector stakeholders to maximise outcomes.
Working with KDP’s and Supply Chain to build a Consolidated Delivery Plan that aligns to the Strategic Objectives and to support stakeholders in creating and implementing robust reporting mechanisms.
To educate colleagues and the supply chain on the need for, and advantages of social impact, demonstrate how they can effectively contribute to it and support them in doing so.
To support the Social Impact Lead in communicating the work of the social impact team internally and externally, via a variety of methods, and work with the Communications Team as appropriate.
To keep up to date with relevant legislation, standards and best practice and support the Social Impact Lead to ensure they are communicated to the organisation and reflected, as appropriate, into the work of the team.
To report, and escalate as appropriate, to the Social Impact Lead (the Task Manager) as well as any agreed wider stakeholders.
Person Requirements
You are experienced in leading UK-based social impact activities, applying and developing recognised best-practice methodologies that take our programme and project matters into account to be more sustainable and reduce emissions at the same time.
You are committed to operate at the high standards of behaviour needed for success: safety, ambition, diversity & inclusion, empowerment & energy, and trust & respect.
You can work with the Social Impact Lead to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders at a variety of levels - including at senior leadership level, and you have the knowledge, personality and skills required to motivate those stakeholders to participate effectively in social impact delivery.
Your preferred working style is collaborative, and you are experienced in working within a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders from private, public and third sector organisations.
You are aware of the various social impact measurement approaches and, ideally, have experience in operating under a sustainability performance management system, featuring both qualitative and quantitative and quantitative assessments.
You have procurement knowledge and significant experience in working with a supply chain to embed social impact processes and interventions, in maximising sustainability value-add through contracting and in assuring delivery of those contractual obligations
Ideally, you have experience of delivering social impact with more than one client organisation.
Working as part of a team, providing support and wellbeing.
Due to the significant level of stakeholder engagement and coordination required, this position requires residency in West Cumbria.
