SMT Operator

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled SMT Operator to join our team in Lake Forest, California. As an integral part of our electronics manufacturing services, you will be responsible for operating Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment and ensuring the production of high-quality circuit board assemblies. Our services cater to industries such as aerospace, defense, medical electronics, and industrial power.

ResponsibilitiesOperate SMT equipmentPerform preventive maintenance on SMT and production equipmentIndependently operate SMT automatic assembly equipment including Screen Printer, SPI, Pick & Place, and Reflow OvenSet up and understand set-up lists, assembly instructions, and assembly notesPrepare and load components to feedersFollow ESD handling procedures for sensitive electronic devices per ANSI/ESD S20.20-2007Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and JSTD-001 standards for the acceptability of electronic assembliesIdentify manufacturer’s part number markings on various componentsIdentify critical component features including package type and sizeUnderstand ROHS compliance and compatibilityIdentify, document, and report non-conforming materialIdentify proper feeder types (e.g., 8mm x 2mm, 16mm x 8mm, vibratory, etc.)Recognize Sn63 and Pb-Free solder pastesPrint solder paste on PCB for various components including 0201, less than 15mil fine pitch, and BGA packagesPerform routine maintenance for production equipmentEssential Skills1+ year of SMT operation experienceKnowledge of IPC standardsAbility to read and interpret blueprintsExperience with surface mount technology and SMT machinesFamiliarity with PCB board assembly and wave solderingExperience with pick and place machineryAdditional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of ITAR regulationsExperience with 'Pick n Place' equipmentWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean manufacturing facility. You will be working the 1st shift from 7am to 3:30pm, ensuring a productive and efficient workday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Forest, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
