Job Title: Winding Small Parts Assembler

Location: Saratoga Springs, NY
Department: Manufacturing / Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Pay: $17.52/hour
Shift: Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm

Job Summary

The Winding Small Parts Assembler is responsible for assembling, winding, and inspecting small electrical and electromechanical components in accordance with detailed drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This role requires strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work with fine-gauge wire and small parts in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform manual winding of small coils, transformers, and related components using fine wire and specialized winding equipment

Assemble small mechanical and electrical parts according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions

Inspect completed assemblies to ensure conformance to quality, workmanship, and dimensional requirements

Use hand tools, microscopes, gauges, and other precision equipment as required

Maintain accurate production and inspection records

Follow all safety, quality, and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures

Identify and report defects, nonconformances, or process issues to supervision

Meet productivity and quality standards while maintaining consistent workmanship

Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and company policies

Support continuous improvement initiatives as directed

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience in small parts assembly, coil winding, or precision manufacturing preferred

Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, work instructions, and specifications

Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

Ability to work with small components for extended periods of time

Basic math skills and attention to detailPreferred Qualifications

Previous experience in aerospace, defense, or electronics manufacturing

Experience with microscopes, winding machines, or fine-gauge wire

Familiarity with IPC or similar workmanship standards

ESD awareness or certification

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods

Frequent use of hands and fingers for fine manipulation

Ability to visually inspect small components, with or without corrective lenses

Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds

Work Environment

Manufacturing environment with controlled temperature and lighting

Use of hand tools, winding equipment, and inspection devices

Compliance with all company safety and quality regulations
