**Job Title: Slitter Operator**
**Job Description**
The Slitter Operator is responsible for safely loading and unloading mill rolls using the hoist system, accurately packing and labeling finished products, and performing all necessary quality checks while documenting results. The role requires operation and understanding of basic machine controls on at least one type of slitter, troubleshooting and correcting basic line issues, and accurately setting razor knives to work order specified widths.
**Responsibilities**
+ Safely load and unload mill rolls using the hoist system.
+ Accurately pack and label finished products.
+ Perform necessary quality checks and document results.
+ Operate and understand basic machine controls on slitter.
+ Troubleshoot and correct basic line issues, seeking assistance for complex issues.
+ Accurately set razor knives to specified widths.
+ Properly set and hook-up rewind arms and rider rolls.
+ Perform basic set-up of edge guide system and troubleshoot issues.
+ Keep accurate records of operations including production, downtime, and waste.
+ Understand and follow all safety rules and policies.
+ Perform miscellaneous tasks as directed by supervisor.
+ Maintain housekeeping standards.
**Essential Skills**
+ 6+ months of machine operating experience.
+ Experience performing visual inspections.
+ Good verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Capability to follow safety procedures, food safety guidelines, and ISO procedures.
+ Good mathematical skills.
+ Commitment to continuous learning.
+ Ability to work overtime as required.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Any slitting experience is advantageous.
+ Experience in a metals or plastics environment is beneficial.

**Work Environment**
The facility is well-organized by department, with sections dedicated to slitting, thermoforming, and lamination. There are light odors from adhesives used to bind films, but the facility is equipped with large fans to maintain a reasonable temperature. On hot summer days, water and cold treat stations are provided throughout the building. The warehouse and production floor are connected, requiring operators to shift between both areas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
