**Job Title: Slitter Operator** **Job Description** As a Slitter Operator, you will be responsible for safely loading and unloading mill rolls using the hoist system and accurately packing and labeling finished products. You will perform necessary quality checks and document results, while operating and understanding basic machine controls on at least one type of slitter. The role requires troubleshooting and correcting basic line issues, safely setting razor knives to specified widths, and properly setting up rewind arms and rider rolls. You will also perform basic setup of the edge guide system and troubleshoot problems, maintaining accurate records of operations, downtime, and waste. Adherence to safety rules and policies is crucial, along with performing miscellaneous tasks as directed and maintaining housekeeping. **Responsibilities** + Safely load and unload mill rolls using the hoist system. + Accurately pack and label finished products. + Perform all necessary quality checks and document results. + Operate and understand basic machine controls on at least one type slitter. + Troubleshoot and correct basic line issues; may need assistance for complex issues. + Accurately and safely set razor knives to work order specified widths. + Properly set and hook-up rewind arms and rider rolls to required roll width. + Perform basic setup of edge guide system and troubleshoot basic problems. + Keep accurate records of operations including production, downtime, and waste. + Fully understand and follow all safety rules and policies. + Perform miscellaneous tasks as needed and directed by supervisor. + Maintain housekeeping. **Essential Skills** + 6+ months of machine operating experience. + Experience performing visual inspection in past roles. + Good verbal and written communication skills. + Strong organizational skills and attention to details. + Commitment to following plant and departmental safety procedures, food safety guidelines, and ISO procedures. + Good mathematical skills. + Continuous learning is expected. + Ability to work overtime as required. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Any slitting experience is advantageous. + Experience in a metals or plastics environment is beneficial. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a generous benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid holidays, vacation, and a 401k plan. There are some light odors from adhesives used to bind films. While the facility is not air-conditioned, large fans help maintain reasonable conditions, and water and cold treat stations are provided during hot summer days. The facility is very clean and organized by department, including slitter, thermoforming, and lamination. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
