Six Sigma Black Belt
Role Summary:
This role focuses on solving complex technical problems using advanced Lean Six Sigma methodologies, with a strong emphasis on Design of Experiments (DOE) and process capability. The position supports enterprise-wide Lean initiatives and coaches technically oriented teams to improve product and process design, quality, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute Lean Six Sigma projects to improve productivity, quality, lead/cycle time, cost, and cash flow.
Apply advanced statistical and quality tools, including DOE, process capability (Cpk/Ppk), SPC, DFMEA/PFMEA, PPAP, and DFM/DFA.
Drive Lean initiatives to reduce waste, improve flow, and increase profitability through Kaizen events and cross-functional collaboration.
Lead cross-functional teams to analyze current processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement sustainable solutions.
Develop and standardize data collection processes; support automation and mistake-proofing where possible.
Conduct and coach others in root cause analysis.
Support continuous improvement in product and process design.
Train, mentor, and coach engineers and production leaders in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Assist leadership in developing business cases aligned with strategic objectives.
Support visual management, SQDP metrics, and cost-of-poor-quality analyses.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Systems, or a related field.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required (Green Belt considered with extensive demonstrated experience).
Minimum 3 years of Lean Six Sigma experience.
Experience with manufacturing and transactional/office processes.
Product and process design experience preferred.
Statistics experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Advanced expertise in DOE and process capability analysis.
Strong experience teaching and coaching Lean Six Sigma tools.
Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Minitab and Excel.
Ability to perform statistical hand calculations.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Itasca, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
