Join our team to lead and enhance safety efforts on site, ensuring a secure and compliant working environment. With a focus on construction safety, you will be instrumental in implementing site-specific safety plans and coordinating with the project team to maintain high safety standards.
ResponsibilitiesLead the creation of Site Specific Safety Plans.Coordinate with the project team to establish a safe working environment.Conduct and coordinate monthly all-hands site safety meetings.Attend all project foremen's meetings to discuss safety topics and concerns.Serve as a liaison between the client and the team on safety issues.Issue and assist with safety permits, including Hot Work and Confined Space.Assist in planning all high-risk activities.Review and sign off on crane pick plans and confined space entry plans.Conduct weekly site safety audits to ensure safe working conditions.Ensure subcontractors follow all relevant safety procedures and regulations.Assist the Safety Manager as needed and supervise subcontractor activities.Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by subcontractors.Ensure compliance with safety documentation, such as JHAs and training records.Collect and record data and pertinent safety information.Attend coordination meetings to provide direction on performing tasks safely.Ensure all PPE and safety equipment are stocked and ready for use.Stay updated on industry rules, regulations, and standards.Essential Skills5 years of recent experience as a Site Safety and Health Officer with the Army Corps.Experience in federal building construction.Proficiency in OSHA regulations and certifications, including OSHA 30 and OSHA 500.Knowledge of EM-385 regulations.Experience with safety in data centers.Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.Own laptop.A partnership approach to safety management.Work EnvironmentThe role involves working on a construction site with a focus on safety in a federal building context. You'll need to be proactive in coordinating safety efforts and ensuring all safety equipment is available and in compliance with industry standards. Dress code requires appropriate safety attire and PPE at all times.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Box Elder, SD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $58.00/hr.
