Site Engineer - Manufacturing OperationsJob Summary

Oversee manufacturing operations with primary responsibility for preventive maintenance and emergency repair coordination of specialized vehicle modeling equipment. Serve as technical point of contact ensuring maximum uptime through proactive maintenance programs, vendor management, and rapid response to equipment failures.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Operations

Execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment including milling machines, water jet systems, air compressors, foam cutting machines, and paint boothsDevelop maintenance schedules, perform routine inspections, and conduct equipment performance assessmentsDocument maintenance activities and maintain accurate equipment history records

Emergency Response & Vendor Management

Respond immediately to equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs to minimize production downtimeAssess equipment failures, diagnose problems, and determine appropriate repair strategiesEstablish relationships with vendors and service providers, negotiate service agreements, and coordinate facility access

Parts Management & Process Improvement

Manage inventory of critical spare parts and place immediate orders for replacement partsCoordinate with purchasing and vendors to expedite delivery while maintaining optimal inventory levelsIdentify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce costs, and optimize production efficiencyGenerate regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and reliability metricsRequired Qualifications

Education & Experience

3-5 years' experience in manufacturing environment with hands-on equipment maintenance responsibilitiesExperience with CNC machining, water jet cutting, compressed air systems, and industrial painting equipment

Technical Skills

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting with hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems experienceProficiency reading technical drawings, equipment manuals, and electrical schematicsKnowledge of preventive maintenance principles and OSHA safety requirements

Core Competencies

Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure during emergenciesStrong communication and negotiation skills for vendor interactionsAbility to prioritize multiple activities and manage time effectivelyPhysical capability for hands-on maintenance work including lifting, climbing, and industrial environmentsPreferred Qualifications

Education & Certification

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical fieldProfessional certification in maintenance management or reliability engineeringOSHA safety certifications and specialized equipment training

Specialized Experience

Understanding of vehicle modeling and prototyping processesExperience with 5-axis milling machines, abrasive water jet systems, foam cutting technologies, and automotive paint systemsKnowledge of quality control requirements for precision manufacturing operationsExperience with CMMS systems and predictive maintenance technologiesBackground in vendor management and lean manufacturing principlesWorking Conditions

Manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial equipment and varying temperatures. Includes hands-on maintenance, emergency response situations, and vendor coordination. May require occasional overtime and on-call availability.

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

78,000.00 – 78,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
