**Forklift Driver** **Job Description** Join our team as a Forklift Driver, where you will play a vital role in loading flatbed trucks for shipment in our Vinyl and/or Lumber department. As a Material Handler/Forklift Operator, you will assist in our distribution center, ensuring the safe loading of trucks and unloading of railcars. We value safety and quality of service, and every team member is crucial to our operations. **Responsibilities** + Operate a forklift in compliance with training and safety guidelines. + Load, unload, and store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage. + Store and retrieve materials through piece pick and/or bulk handling. + Prepare necessary paperwork for the distribution and shipping of products. + Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment. + Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the working and assigned areas. + Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in operating a forklift safely to transport products and load/unload trucks. + Ability to understand and follow directions. + Capability to work independently, sometimes under pressure. + Experience in lifting up to 75 lbs. + Competence in reading and comprehending sales orders, purchase orders, and safety materials. + Detail-oriented and organized with basic math skills. + A safe work record and stable work history. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience. + Willingness to train the right candidate. **Why Work Here** Enjoy a Monday through Friday schedule with opportunities for overtime. Be prepared for cold winters and hot summers, as you will be outside all day. Hours are Monday to Friday, from 10am to 6pm. Steel or composite toe shoes are required. While 75% of your time will be on a forklift, you must also be willing to engage in manual labor, such as cutting and moving products. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FREDERICK, Maryland. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
