Job Description **Who will you be working with?** Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence Signaling & Systems team is a recognized industry leader in the successful delivery of complex integrated system projects. These projects involve signaling, train control, communications, and back-office solutions with a strong focus on project execution, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction. **How will you make a difference?** As a Signal Engineer, you will be responsible for wayside/crossing designs and VLC/WIU programming. You will be working with customer specifications with railroad road standards and FRA regulations. **What do we want to know about you?** _You must have:_ + Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic, computer or mechanical engineering; or computer science. Equivalent work experience in the railroad signal industry is acceptable in lieu of educational requirement + Knowledge of accepted railway industry quality standards, AREMA guidelines, FRA regulations, and customer specific requirements, preferred but not mandatory Must become familiar with individual customer’s standards as a part of the check process + Proficient with MS Office suite (Excel, Office Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio and Word) + Strong written and verbal communications skills + e-RAILSAFE and Roadway Worker Protection Certification (can attain on the job) **What will your typical day look like?** + Complete wayside/crossing designs as required + Complete vital logic controller (VLC) programming as required + Complete wayside interface unit (WIU) programming as required + Complete scope reviews with manager and project leader + Attend project reviews with customers and project leads + Work within Microstation (CADD) + Manage and organize files within a document control system + Maintain versioning control + Review deliverables for proper version and accuracy prior to delivery + Produce documentation as required by the DP/DLWI Quality System requirements + Monitor budget and timelines + Acquire a thorough understanding of RR standards and FRA regulations + Maintain knowledge of industry standards and guidelines + Perform other tasks as assigned by manager Additional Information Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $68900-98200 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
