Shuttle Bus Driver
Overview **This position will be physically located in Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP** As a Shuttle Bus Driver, you should be familiar with the road and safety regulations. Also, you should be able to take the shortest route in case of any road block or heavy traffic. Moreover, you should report any major accidents or malfunctions to the senior management. Also, you should keep the vehicle in proper working order and schedule timely servicing appointments. To perform in this job role, you should have a calm composure at all times. Also, you should hold a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. In addition to this, you should have a customer centric approach. Have a thorough road sense to join us. You will be primarily responsible for dropping passengers to and from their destination in a safe and timely manner. You should be able to report to the arrival and departure points as per the assigned schedule. Also, you should ensure that the bus is occupied with passengers while adhering to the sitting/standing capacity. Responsibilities ** This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.** + Drives a van or full-size bus to transport clients, trainees, or company personnel. + Drives vehicle from individual or central loading area to social services, medical centers, training locations, job sites, or other destinations according to assigned schedule. + Provides safe and comfortable transportation to and from one destination to another. + Provide safe, dependable transportation on and around the campus area + Be available to drive for other drivers that have called in sick or otherwise + Safely assist loading, unloading and securing of persons with disabilities in a professional manner + Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections with a high degree of accuracy and safety + Fuel and clean buses when required + Maintain proper passenger counts and related paperwork + Use good judgment when need arises to alter assigned routes due to road conditions and or traffic conditions + Be prepared to work any time of day or night, to include weekends + Must be flexible to assume other duties as assigned + Driving the vehicle provided by the USAG-KA - vehicle dependent on type of operator license + Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, logging all defects, arranging for repairs + Maintaining the cleanliness and all safety equipment on the vehicle + Being knowledgeable about the Garrison bus routes + Providing informational literature on the vans and dispensing information as requested + Maintaining all safety equipment + Using the radios provided for each shuttle following guidelines and using proper radio etiquette + Adhering to the established routes + Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications + Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. + High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Must provide a copy of the diploma. + A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License + Ability to meet required deadlines and maintain necessary workflow. + Commercial Driver’s license is preferred. + Must be able to operate vehicles with a manual transmission. + Preferred Qualification: + Undergraduate Degree is preferred. + Experience:. + Excellent computer, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills required. + Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and USG Army Information Systems (AIS). + Requires excellent organizational skills; with the ability to work under fast paced and adverse conditions. + Skills: + Must be able to set the standard for professional excellence among the maintenance team. + Working Conditions: + Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. + Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months). + Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. + The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation + The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard about ambient noise level. + The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals + The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body. + Physical Requirements: + Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. + Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. + Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. + Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
