Activities

The power scheduling position offers a dynamic opportunity to play an integral role in TotalEnergies’ trading business. The role is primarily Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with occasional responsibility to respond to questions during nights and weekends. The Power Scheduler is responsible for executing TotalEnergies Gas & Power North America’s trading strategy and is expected to perform all activities in a manner that minimizes operational risk at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule all trades in ISO portals, including but not limited to ERCOT, PJM, and CAISO.Arrange and submit daily virtual and physical energy bids and offers to optimize market positions.Monitor call‑option strikes and align virtual bids accordingly to maximize profitability.Schedule ancillary services based on the needs of industrial load partners and real‑time market conditions.Execute optimization strategies set by the trading team, including submitting bids into ancillary‑services markets.Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets to provide accurate and actionable market insights for trading decisions.Prioritize tasks efficiently to meet market deadlines and operational requirements.Maintain compliance with ISO rules, NERC regulations, and internal risk policies.

 

Candidate Profile Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, engineering, business administration, or equivalent experience.Basic understanding of the North American power industry, commodity and financial trading, and risk management, demonstrated through a successful trading or analytical track record.Experience with Python, R, or MATLAB, along with strong quantitative skills, is preferred.Strong desire to work in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.Forward‑thinking, performance‑driven mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.TotalEnergies is unable to sponsor employment visas or consider individuals on time‑limited visa status for this position.
