Summary:
Join our transportation team as a Short Haul Driver, where you’ll safely and efficiently transport product between company facilities, customers, and distribution locations. In this role, you’ll operate a tractor-trailer on assigned routes while supporting drop-and-hook and live load/unload operations. You’ll be expected to follow all DOT regulations and company policies while maintaining a high level of professionalism as a representative of the Perdue Farms brand. Schedule flexibility is essential, as routes, locations, or customers may change to meet business needs.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Safely maneuver and transport truckloads of product and materials to plants, customers, and distributors as assignedPerform drop-and-hook operations and equipment interchanges, including live loading and unloading when requiredComply with all DOT requirements, including hours of service, electronic logging (ELD), vehicle inspections, load inspections, and load securementOperate tractor-trailer equipment in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations and company safety policiesUtilize onboard safety features, vehicle tracking systems, and logging tools efficiently and accuratelyComplete and submit all required documentation, including manifests, bills of lading, Verify seal integrity and ensure accurate case counts and product condition at pickup and delivery locationsTransport loads outside of typical routes, schedules, or customer assignments as needed to support operational demandsRequired:
Valid Class A CDL licenseHigh School diploma or GEDMinimum of two (2) years of over-the-road tractor-trailer driving experience (refrigerated trailer experience preferred)Preferred:
