**Job Title: Shop Technician**
**Job Description**
As a shop technician, you will be integral to the process of upfitting various trucks, including DOT plows, service trucks, tool boxes, and dump trucks. The role involves custom work based on client specifications, requiring thoughtful problem-solving and precise installation. Equipment arrives pre-fabricated or assembled, and your primary task will be installing it onto truck frames.
**Responsibilities**
+ Use hand and power tools to install attachments onto trucks.
+ Read and interpret blueprints to install wire harnesses connecting equipment to the control box in the cab.
+ Interpret prints to attach equipment correctly and safely.
+ Install lights onto trucks after plows or buckets are installed.
+ Fabricate metal parts as needed to fit the vehicle.
+ Install hydraulic hoses where needed for certain equipment.
+ Use hand tools to attach final assemblies onto trucks.
+ Tape and prepare trucks for paint touch-ups.
+ Apply liquid paint in the paint booth to buckets, frames, or hitches.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude.
+ Experience with mechanical assembly and fitting.
+ Ability to work with electrical systems.
+ Experience with welding and fabrication.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to work in awkward positions.
+ Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
+ Ability to work on feet for long hours.
+ Preferred: Own tools/toolbox.

**Work Environment**
The shop is clean, not noisy, and features music for a pleasant work ambiance. Employees experience a mix of independent and team-oriented tasks depending on the project. The work schedule is from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, with optional overtime available. Saturdays offer voluntary repair work from 8am to 12pm.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moorhead, Minnesota.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
