**Shop Laborer** **1st shift** **$18 - 22** **Job Description** As a Shop Laborer, you will be responsible for cleaning welds on parts using a mild acid and rinsing them with water and a neutralizing solution to ensure they are clean before shipping. You will assist in handling parts from machines, specifically for food processing equipment, and wash these parts. The role involves frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and using handheld grinders to grind, polish, and finish parts. You will also learn to read and interpret basic blueprints if necessary and will be responsible for stacking parts on carts and pallets, sorting items into inventory, and using small pencil grinders. The work is repetitive, handling up to 100 parts at a time, and may include operating CNC equipment as needed. **Responsibilities** + Clean welds on parts using a mild acid and rinse with water and a neutralizing solution. + Assist in handling parts coming off the machines. + Wash parts and lift items up to 50 pounds frequently. + Utilize handheld grinders to grind, polish, and finish parts. + Learn to read and interpret basic blueprints, if necessary. + Stack parts on carts and pallets, and sort items into inventory using a cart. + Use small pencil grinders for detailed work. + Perform repetitive tasks, handling up to 100 parts at a time. + Operate CNC equipment as needed. + Take care of various tasks required in the shop. **Essential Skills** + Experience with deburring and grinding. + Performing shop labor duties reliably. + Experience with cleaning parts using hand tools and power tools. + Mechanical inclination. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with automotive work is a plus. + Attention to detail. + Ability to use a tape measurer. + Basic math skills, such as counting. + Initiative to grow within the company. + Open to candidates with minimal experience looking to learn new skills. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, IL. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.
