Job Description
We are seeking a versatile 'Do-All' shop laborer to engage in general fabrication, errand running, and some welding tasks. This role offers opportunities for advancement into positions such as welding or machine operation. The successful candidate will perform various duties around the shop, including part pickups and deliveries, and must be proficient in using forklifts, hand tools, and have experience in pulling and backing up trailers.
ResponsibilitiesPack and prepare products for shipment.Load and unload delivery trucks.Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.Perform deliveries and pickups from suppliers using the company truck and trailer.Provide professional communication with customers and suppliers.Interact with various levels of management and customers.Read instructions, shop drawings, and work orders for multiple jobs.Execute miscellaneous shop-related jobs such as cutting, drilling, sanding, and shearing stainless steel sheets.Set up and operate welding equipment, adjusting voltage, amperage, and gas flow.Inspect welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion, making necessary repairs.Grind, polish, and finish welds to meet aesthetic requirements.Essential SkillsFabrication, MIG, and TIG welding experience.Blueprint reading proficiency.Forklift and hand tool experience.Clean driving record.Expertise in MIG welding, with experience in TIG as a plus.Completion of a vocational welding program or trade school is a plus.Familiarity with various types and grades of stainless steel.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.Valid driver's license.Experience driving with a trailer is mandatory.Ability to sit, stand, and walk up to 10 hours per day.Capability to crawl, crouch, stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.Multitasking capabilities.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Strong teamwork orientation with flexibility and responsiveness.Professional appearance for customer interaction.Prior fabrication experience with tools such as a drill press, shear, and band saw.Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The workshop environment involves working with 15-20 other people on the production floor. While the shop is relatively clean, there is a significant amount of metal dust. Our company specializes in creating custom stainless steel tanks for various industries, including fuel, food and water processing, and alcohol fermentation.

This is a Contract position based out of Spokane Valley, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
