Job Title: Shop Helper

Job Description

Join a dynamic manufacturing team working in an industrial-sized rim production facility. As a skilled labourer, you will play a crucial role in the production line, using hand and power tools, grinders, and other shop equipment to finish and perfect the rims used in large mining trucks.

Work Environment

Work in a large, open, and heavy industrial environment with a team of 26 dedicated individuals. The shop is tailored for manufacturing rims for the mining industry and has employees with decades of loyalty. The environment is cold and can be dirty, reflecting the nature of industrial work. Initially, work on the day shift with the possibility of moving to afternoon shifts if required. Day Shift hours are from 2:45pm to 11:15pm.

Responsibilities

Grind and finish pre-welded/fabricated rims using belt sanders, grinders, and other shop tools.Perform basic MIG welding as needed.Visually inspect products for defects and ensure quality standards are met.Occasionally operate a forklift and overhead crane for material handling.

Essential Skills

At least 6 months of experience in an industrial shop environment.Ability to handle and operate hand and power tools effectively.Capability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.Mechanically inclined with an understanding of production processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

C level welding ticket is advantageous.Experience with overhead crane operation is a plus.Possession of a good attitude with eagerness to learn and take initiative.Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
