Position OverviewJoin a thriving and well-equipped sheet metal fabrication shop as a Shop Helper, where you’ll receive hands-on training across multiple departments and gain exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with general labor or fabrication experience who are looking to expand their skills and grow within a union-supported environment.
You’ll work with industry-leading equipment—including Trumpf Punch Presses and Sheet Lasers—and contribute to the production of high-quality prototype components. The role also includes maintaining shop cleanliness and supporting machine operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a floater across departments, receiving cross-training in fabrication, assembly, and machine operationOperate Timesaver machines and deburr metal parts to meet quality standardsSet up and run Trumpf Punch Press and Trumpf Sheet Laser equipmentAssist with general shop duties including cleaning, organizing, and machine maintenanceSupport production teams with grinding, assembly, and welding tasks as neededInterpret blueprints and follow technical instructions to ensure accuracy in fabricationRequired Skills & QualificationsPrior experience in sheet metal fabrication or general manufacturingProficiency with hand and power tools used in metalworkingAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsFamiliarity with grinding, deburring, and basic welding techniquesStrong attention to detail and commitment to safetyPhysical ability to lift and handle metal parts and tools throughout the shiftPreferred QualificationsExperience operating Trumpf machinery or similar CNC equipmentBackground in prototype or custom fabrication environmentsUnion experience or willingness to join after 90 daysTeam-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and adaptWork EnvironmentClean, bright, and well-organized prototype fabrication shopUnion facility with most employees joining the union after 90 daysState-of-the-art equipment including the latest Trumpf machinesCollaborative and safety-focused workplace cultureOpportunities for advancement and skill developmentWhy Join UsCompetitive hourly pay with long-term career potentialExposure to cutting-edge fabrication technologiesStructured training across departments and equipmentSupportive team environment with union benefits after 90 daysChance to work in a high-quality shop with modern tools and processesReady to build your future in precision metal fabrication?

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
