**Job Title: Production Helper** **Job Description** A manufacturer and distributor of mechanical seals is seeking dedicated production helpers to support various trades, primarily welders, with essential tasks around the shop. This role involves grinding, deburring, light assembly, job kitting, cleaning, and other general tasks. The production helper will consistently be on the move, ensuring jobs are set up efficiently so that other trades can focus on their specific roles. **Responsibilities** + Assist various trades, mainly welders, with general tasks around the shop. + Perform grinding and deburring tasks. + Engage in light assembly and job kitting. + Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop. + Support in setting up jobs for seamless workflow. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 2 years industrial experience. + Exposure to manufacturing or welding environments. + Proficiency in grinding or deburring tasks. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in welding. + Previous experience as a helper. + Familiarity with assembly processes. + Ability to clean and learn various trades. **Why Work Here?** Join a national company with a robust book of business offering comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits. The shop is well-organized with established processes and houses 20 shop workers, including assemblers, warehouse staff, welders, and CNC programmers in the office. Dress code includes steel-toed shoes, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. **Day shift** Monday to Friday, from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, with Saturday work from 6:00 am to either 11:00 am or 2:00 pm depending on workflow. Can't guarantee OT but very likely to work 60+ hours/week. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
