Shipping Supervisor – Salinas, CA
The opportunity:
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily activities for shipping functions of all outgoing products to customers. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of shipping and transferring product and materials, verifying and recording information on incoming and outgoing shipments, and providing leadership to departmental shipping personnel. The Shipping Supervisor must take precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss and operate in accordance with established procedures, policies and food safety guidelines
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
Maximize trailer utilization and efficiently use trailer pool to reduce costs • Schedule inbound and outbound loads and manage inbound and outbound shipments Monitor daily and monthly inventories to guarantee accuracy and timely completion of inventory records Coordinate and monitor courier rates to select the lowest rate to minimize shipping cost and remain within budget Prepare daily and monthly management reports to communicate critical shipping information Monitor the print order sheets to review and coordinate timelines with the customer schedule Ensure proper resource allocation for all plant shifts to achieve maximum efficiency of plant operations Utilize knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates to determine shipping priorities and methods for delivery to assure on-time delivery and exceptional customer service

Develop documentation and training on safety policies for employees Ensure subordinates work safely and contribute to a collaborative safety culture that drives resultsCommunicate with various levels of management and departments to ensure that goals are accomplished Ensure customer satisfaction by ensuring obligations are met in timely manner Conduct daily department meetings and attend cross-functional meetings to foster communication and discuss improvement opportunities and new procedures

Experience

The salary range for this position is $66,750.00 - $111,250.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
