DuPont is seeking a Shipping Team Lead and Production Coordinator for the Spruance, VA Site.
The Shipping Team Lead and Production Coordinator Ensure Unit/Area SOPs for Shipping/Receiving and shipping material management are optimized and scheduled to minimize quality complaints.
The successful candidate may lead a small team as well as participate in daily operations to ensure orders are shipped and delivered on time. Engage in the typical responsibilities of a team lead requiring planning, evaluating, training, organizing, delegating, and making sure the work environment is safe, clean and in compliance with company policies, OSHA, and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for the area’s overall performance, adherence to budget, timeline, and quality. Develop, organize, and report on KPIs and lead projects that support continuous improvements. Responsible for correcting all data discrepancies in SAP/Visitrak, to include investigating incomplete BOL’s, and data transfer errors. This position is also responsible for setting up and maintaining Visitrak Access for all Spruance, GXO and DCI shippers. As production coordinator, Works with the Asset Scheduler to meet short-term product needs (quality specs, volume) and ensure production plans are optimized on resource vs. customer needs. Lead or participate in investigations into significant production misses and improve current capability. You will report to the Dry End Area Operations Leader and work closely with the slitting FLS, unit production coordinator, supply chain, DCI, JRLC and GXO transportation, unit leadership and other stakeholders
Key essentials of this role/what you’ll do:
Define current capability of shipping area and Key Performance Indicator Routinely reviews current issues with plant team and works with Area Leadership to obtain resources to resolve issues. Escalates issues that can’t be resolved with current resources to Site Leadership. Coordinate the Contract Review, Specification Review, and Customer Product Audit processes to ensure conformance to all customer and regulatory requirements.
Lead projects that impact shipping area
Optimize movement of finished product inventory.
Communicate current shipping capabilities to business line and supply chain planners
Perform SAP transactions to process deliveries for incoming and outgoing material
Perform SAP transactions to reconcile inventory, overage/underage shipping deliveries
Resolve BOL issues
Communicate production instructions to operations personnel
Utilize knowledge of plant capability, capacity and inventory to ensure daily shipping targets are met
On call contact for issues regarding the shipping area
Ensure site transportation issues are resolved
Define and report shipping SQDIP metrics
Responsible for routine resolution of non-conforming product and keeping Non-conformance lag empty
Evaluate health of flow and hi-rise storage to develop inventory management plans / Material movement plans
Owner of hi-rise inventory management work process
Works with the Activity Coordinator / Gatekeeper (ACGK) to ensure maintenance outage periods are optimized and frozen. Provides input for turnaround scope development and duration. Plays a role in turnaround execution, as needed.
Works with Technical Advisor and other personnel to optimize Operations’ performance meetings Business/Plant goals and to ensure daily production targets are met.
Act as escalation point from operations to supply chain for current capability and Plant constraints (ex. outages, equipment/staffing limitations, available storage space) and has decision-making rights to determine if Operations can commit to the schedule.
As part of escalation process, assist operators in resolution of gaps between current production versus plan. Provides leadership and direction in the day-to-day decision-making for the operating area of responsibility.
Define current capability of production area and Key Performance Indicators – Quarterly rate reviews
Promotes proactive equipment problem identification. Works with other roles to ensure operating plan and reliability issues are coordinated.
Your qualifications profile:
Required:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Operations/Manufacturing Environment
Previous people leadership experience in a Manufacturing Environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and computer usage (Excel, Word, Internet, etc.).
Root cause analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving skill.
Previous experience navigating SAP.
Preferred:
2+ years SAP experience
2+ years team leadership experience in a manufacturing, operations, or logistics setting
Line of business (Kevlar®/Tyvek®/Nomex®) preferred
