Our client, a leader in logistics and supply chain management, is seeking a Shipping & Logistics Specialist to join their team. As a Shipping & Logistics Specialist, you will be part of the Distribution Department supporting international shipping and freight coordination. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Shipping & Logistics Specialist
**Location:** Norwood, OH (100% On-Site)
**Duration:** 12+ Months Contract
**What's the Job?**
+ Coordinate activities between customer service, distribution, and international packing to ensure timely shipments
+ Prepare and submit documentation for domestic and international shipments
+ Arrange bookings with steamship lines, freight forwarders, and consolidators for cost-effective delivery
+ Manage supplies and inventory levels within the distribution center
+ Serve as a liaison with freight forwarders, brokers, and customers to troubleshoot issues and improve shipping processes
**What's Needed?**
+ High School Diploma, GED, or HSED required
+ Preferred: Hazard material certification for air, sea, and CFR 49 shipping
+ 2+ years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain
+ Knowledge of DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations
+ Proficiency with PC, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and communication tools
