Shipping Lead
**Job Title: Shipping Lead** Job Description Join our team as a Shipping Lead on a 1st Shift in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, executing, and maintaining all activities required to ensure the smooth operation of the shipping area. This role involves collaborating with supervisors and management to efficiently process work and solve problems, while promoting a spirit of continuous improvement among employees. Responsibilities + Work with management to provide data on work orders and other related paperwork for updates or corrections. + Maintain overall housekeeping, safety, and appearance of the shipping area and material handling equipment. + Direct activities of shipping coordinators assigned to the area. + Train new employees. + Effectively utilize resources to minimize materials and labor. + Work with minimal supervision to accurately accomplish tasks. + Follow and interpret written and verbal instructions. + Present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees. + Problem-solve and implement shipping solutions. + Operate forklifts and build crates. Essential Skills + Two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. + Basic knowledge of geometry for determining angles required for building containers. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. + Strong housekeeping skills. Why Work Here? Work Environment 1st Shift Hours: 7am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday. The environment is not climate controlled and can include working by a loading dock. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
