Shipping Coordinator - 1st shift 3:30pm - 12:00am

Position Scope

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing all outbound shipping activities to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of aerospace products to customers. This role serves as the primary point of contact for shipping execution, carrier coordination, documentation accuracy, and ERP transaction integrity while supporting production schedules, customer commitments, and regulatory compliance.

The Shipping Coordinator partners closely with Production, Quality, Customer Service, and Materials to ensure shipments meet customer requirements, export controls, packaging standards, and internal procedures in a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

Position Roles and Responsibilities

Coordinate daily outbound shipments to meet customer delivery commitments and production schedules.Prepare shipping documentation including packing slips, bills of lading, certifications, export documentation, and customer-specific paperwork.Verify part numbers, quantities, lot traceability, packaging requirements, and labeling accuracy prior to shipment.Ensure proper packaging, palletization, weight limits, and secure loading practices in compliance with safety standards and carrier requirements.Schedule carrier pickups, coordinate freight quotes, and resolve transportation issues or delays.Execute accurate shipping transactions in the ERP system, including shipment confirmation, invoicing triggers, and inventory relief.Maintain complete and accurate shipping records for audit readiness and customer traceability.Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, shortages, or documentation errors.Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100), customer requirements, and internal procedures.Support export compliance awareness (ITAR/EAR where applicable), including proper documentation and controlled shipment handling.Partner with Quality to ensure required certifications, inspection records, and customer documentation accompany shipments.Support audits, customer visits, and internal inspections related to shipping and logistics.Communicate shipment priorities and constraints with Production, Planning, Customer Service, and Materials.Escalate risks impacting on-time delivery, capacity constraints, or compliance concerns.Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce shipping errors, improve throughput, and optimize freight costs

Required Skills, Education, And Experience

High school diploma or GED required; logistics, supply chain, or business coursework preferred.Minimum 3–5 years of shipping, logistics, or warehouse coordination experience, preferably in aerospace or regulated manufacturing.Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and shipping software.Experience preparing shipping documents, bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier coordination.Knowledge of domestic and basic international shipping requirements; export compliance awareness preferred.Forklift certification required or ability to obtain and maintain certification.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities.Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
