Job Title: Shipping SpecialistJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Specialist to efficiently prepare and manage orders for shipment within our dynamic warehouse environment. This position involves handling hazardous materials and ensuring all shipments meet both domestic and international specifications.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare orders for shipment, moving materials within the warehouse to the shipping area.Package and prepare materials for shipment, including special preparation and paperwork for hazardous materials.Create required documentation for shipments, ensuring appropriate labeling for both domestic and foreign shipments.Examine ongoing shipments to ensure compliance with internal and external specifications and procedures.Maintain accurate shipping records and verify documentation for accuracy and completeness.Ship packages using mail, messenger, or identified carriers, operating forklift trucks and hand trucks to load shipments.Perform electronic system transactions to reflect movement of materials and products.Assist in maintaining inventory of shipping materials and supplies to ensure adequate stock.Participate in corporate and team continuous improvement and safety activities, completing all required training.Understand workplace hazards and take proactive steps to prevent and report any injuries or malfunctioning equipment.Operate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with ISO and OHSAS standards.
Essential SkillsShipping, Receiving, Warehouse, Forklift, Inventory ManagementAt least 2 years of related warehouse/shipping experienceProficiency in computer skillsForklift experience
Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of a High school diploma or GED equivalentAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in EnglishPrevious experience shipping hazardous goods packages via ground, air, and oceanHazardous goods certification(s): DOT, IATA, IMDG 49 CFRPrior JDE or similar ERP system experienceForklift license

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
