Shipping Assistant

**Job Description:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Shipping Coordinator to manage and optimize shipping operations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and accurate processing of shipments while maintaining compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Resolve shipping issues including mis-shipments, shortages, damages, delivery delays, and freight charge discrepancies.
+ Manage incoming and outgoing calls related to product shipments, coordinating with carriers, customer service, sales, and operations teams.
+ Evaluate and resolve aging orders to ensure timely fulfillment.
+ Accurately prepare shipping documents, freight terms, and commercial invoices.
+ Generate pick tickets and assign carriers strategically to minimize costs.
+ Investigate freight claims and provide appropriate resolutions.
+ Oversee the completion of customer-specific freight shipments and international orders.
+ Schedule carrier pickups and monitor adherence to timelines.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned to support shipping and warehouse operations.
**Required Skills:**
+ Shipping and logistics coordination
+ Warehouse inventory management and cycle counts
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
+ Experience with pick tickets, receiving, and freight handling
+ Forklift operation (preferred)
**Qualifications:**
+ Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
+ Strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills in English
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
+ High attention to detail and organizational skills
+ Ability to lift up to 25 lbs periodically
+ Comfortable with prolonged sitting, intermittent standing/walking, and warehouse floor activities
+ Ability to bend, push, pull, and kneel as required
+ Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and wear required PPE
+ Commitment to plant safety policies
+ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SMITHFIELD, NC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $19.00/hr.
