The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying their contents, and ensuring accurate documentation. The Shipping/Receiving Clerk will play a vital role in maintaining efficient warehouse operations and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order processing.
ResponsibilitiesReceive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of materials against purchase orders or delivery documents.Unpack, inspect, and properly store received items in designated warehouse locations.Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items according to customer orders and shipping requirements.Verify and document shipment details, including quantity, weight, dimensions, and condition of items.Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to customer specifications.Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts to reconcile stock discrepancies.Coordinate with internal departments to resolve any discrepancies, damaged items, or order issues.Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, to load and unload shipments as needed.
Essential SkillsProficiency in operating forklifts and pallet jacks.Experience with inventory control, kitting, and logistics.Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes.Familiarity with SAP and other inventory management systems.
Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong attention to detail for accurate inspection, verification, and documentation.Effective organizational skills for maintaining an orderly warehouse and managing inventory.Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with teams and carriers.Familiarity with shipping software and basic computer skills, including MS Office.Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues with shipments or inventory.
