Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Specialist who will be responsible for managing all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling raw materials and finished goods. This role requires attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain shipping records and inventory counts.

ResponsibilitiesReceive all inbound shipments, including raw materials, and ensure they are delivered to the correct department or stored appropriately.Verify incoming materials against packing lists and ensure proper labeling.Coordinate outbound shipments, including finished goods, scrap, and parcel shipments.Load and unload trucks for both inbound and outbound shipments.Check incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.Inspect shipments for damage and report any issues promptly.Ensure raw material inventory is accurately identified and stored correctly.Maintain daily shipping and receiving records and logs.Address issues in shipping or inventory handling and troubleshoot problems that arise.Generate bills of lading and packing slips.Conduct weekly inventory counts.Physically move materials within the facility, utilizing forklifts and pallet jacks for large items.Build pallets and maintain inventory counts for facility use.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Essential SkillsProficiency in operating forklifts and pallet jacks.Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend shipping documentation and training materials.Basic computer skills.Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Experience in material handling and familiarity with ERP systems.Competence in using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and power tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsCandidate must be able to read measuring tools.Experience in using tape measures.Work Environment

The work environment is dynamic and involves handling various shipments and materials. Employees will use forklifts and pallet jacks to move large goods and are expected to maintain an organized workspace. The role includes physical tasks, such as lifting items up to 50 lbs, and requires adherence to safety standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Covington, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
