Job Description
We are seeking an Environmental Health Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain our HSE System along with policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. To manage and reduce environmental impact by mitigating unnecessary risks and building a culture where environmental, health, and safety are always top of mind. In an effort to Win Right you will also have input and assist in policy development, training, implementation, and enforcement, ensuring all protocols are followed appropriately. The Environmental Specialist is a key role, supporting the growth of the company while maintaining compliance and effectively reducing environmental impact along the way.
ResponsibilitiesWork with and further develop the company's Environmental Management System, including compliance obligations, internal audits, external audits, and our ISO 14001 certificationManage US facility waste streamsAs a team develop, implement, and maintain environmental programsAs a team manage carbon emission reduction projects and other sustainability initiativesEnsure compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, or processes that effect impact on the environment in the US, including travel reduction plans, TRI reporting, storm water permits, and air permitsMaintain Hazcom program o Ability to assist with WEEE and other governmental product and packaging disposal initiativesAbility to assist with PFAS regulations and reportingSpill & release response o Vendor/Contract ManagementWork with management and their departments to determine best course of action for compliance enforcement and impact reductionInvestigate incidents and prevent recurrenceMaintain environmental metrics including waste quantities, compliance obligations, permit requirements, carbon emissions, etc.Analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvementTrain employees on procedures and policies
Additional Skills & QualificationsFour or more (4+) years of Industrial Environmental experience.Bachelors Degree in an environmental related field or equivalent training, experience and certificationRequired technical and analytical skillsProject managementprogram development, integration, and managementAbility to adapt regulation to real world applicationsProblem solvingknowledge of environmental regulations including EPA, RCRA, Maricopa County, WEEE, and GHG Protocol.Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointCurrent RCRA, DOT, and Hazwoper certifications or the ability to obtain themAbility to Join Forces with all levels of employees and any team through out the organizationAbility to be customer facingAbility to think “outside the box” to develop unorthodox solutionsPrior experience with ISO14001 certification and environmental management systems a strong plusWhy Work Here?

The role requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch as required. Ability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods. Ability to write or type for extended periods. Ability to read and analyze information on a computer screen and paper documents for extended periods. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to reach, bend, and stoop as needed to perform basic office tasks. Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull equipment up to 50 lbs.
