Shift Manager

Job Description:

1.       Safety and Environment Management

-          Ensure all the associates of his/her team can follow Mars safety standards and environment rules.

-          Ensure all associate of his/her team can follow the PPE procedure.

-          Report any incident or potential risk to HSE team and manager.

-          Ensure the safe operation of operators and make sure the operators can have right capability.

-          Conduct line tour and go & see to ensure safe working conditions as normal and correct unsafe behaviors to enforce safety implementation.

-          Provide inputs regarding to HSE management and dedicate in HSE continuous improvement.

-          Continuously improve safety conditions and build safety culture in workshop.

-          Leads HSE incident investigation, track CAPA and manage emergency response during shift.

 

2.       Quality and Food Safety Management

-          Apply and ensure the compliance with Mars QMP standards, ISO9001 and ISO22001, GMP/GHP and 5S.

-          Support the HACCP program and internal audits within the site.

-          Work closely with quality team to investigate consumer complaints and quality incidents.

-          Train operators to interpret data and formulate actions to address non-conformance issues.

-          Ensure operation compliance and develop operators right quality capability.

-          Review and timely update work instructions.

-          Conduct line tour and go & see to ensure compliance conditions.

-          Analyze and develop permanent solutions to prevent chronic or significant quality issues.

-          Provide input for improvements/changes to work instructions.

-          Oversee of quality or product conformance issues to ensure corrective/preventative actions are implemented and completed.

 

3.       Production Performance and Team Management

-          Take a lead role in the performance management process of associates on their shift.

-          Build people capability and develop team talents through effective Associates relations, hiring, training, engaging and communication for shop floor Associates.

-          Communicate job expectations; plan and monitor job results; coach and develop team members.

-          Initiate and foster a spirit of collaboration across the organizations.

-          Develop him/herself and entire team in MSE tools and systems. Enhance team engagement with the help of MSE 100% involvement.

-          Analyze losses on their shift and work out loss elimination plan.

-          Participate in pillars to discuss pillar strategy and implement pillar action in production area.

-          Allocate manpower where and when needed.

-          Evaluate and manage the training needs of the shifts.

-          Execute program of personnel development and specific skills training.

-          Determine eventual need of temporary workers.

-          Coordinate and deliver the on-boarding training to the new comers of the shift.

 

4.       Communication and impact

-          Proactively communicate and collaborate with cross-functions to align on shift focus and resource allocation.

-          Effectively communicate and collaborate with various levels in operation teams and factory management team to lead front line associates mindset and behavior change.

-          Communicate any change on any relevant on the shift to the concerned manager.

-          Organize daily CP2, CP3, CP4 meeting to communicate production performance of last 24 hours.

-          Schedule regular meeting with shift associate to present the results, strategy and any other issues that impact on the daily basis operation
