Milton G. Waldbaum and Dan Gardner founded our egg-processing business in 1950 here in Wakefield. Our location raises chickens and produces tankers of liquid egg to be consumed by our processing facilities. **Responsibilities** **MICHAEL FOODS:** The Michael Foods family of businesses has grown to become a multi-billion manufacturer of foodservice, food ingredient and retail offerings by introducing innovative products that have changed the food landscape. From helping restaurant owners enhance the quality of their menus, to supporting food manufacturers with premium ingredients, to satisfying countless consumers with our popular lines, we’re a proven, innovative leader in food. **POSITION SUMMARY** **:** Farm Intern will be working on two main projects. The first will be working with FSQ on egg quality-based assessments including testing and tanker inspections. The second will work with the farm managers and supervisors to evaluate water quality and water treatment options. Other projects may be added. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** The **Farm** Intern’s duties will include: + Inspecting tankers and collecting samples + Developing and presenting a tanker inspection SOP + Collecting and plating egg and water samples + Assessing current water sanitation practices + Identifying areas of water quality improvement + Developing water sanitation programs + Presenting findings + Support management as needed. + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:** + Current or recent enrollment in an undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in the poultry production. + Preferred enrollment in the Midwest Poultry Consortium Center of Excellence program.
