Sheet Metal Mechanic
**Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic with experience in sheet metal fabrication, riveting, and working on aircraft structures, specifically Bombardier corporate aircraft. The ideal candidate will handle all aspects of repair from inspection to execution, utilizing technical manuals and service bulletins. **Responsibilities** + Perform sheet metal fabrication, riveting, assembling, and disassembling of aircraft structures. + Handle repairs from start to finish, including inspection, evaluation, and preparing sketches for engineering support. + Provide technical information for repairs outside approved data scope. + Execute approved repair operations on sheet metal and other structures. + Overhaul mechanical assemblies, including repairs and part replacements. + Document maintenance and repair actions in accordance with company and FAA requirements. + Maintain a safe and clean working environment. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 2 years experience in sheet metal fabrication and riveting. + Experience working on aircraft structures, particularly Bombardier corporate aircraft. + Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, service bulletins, and drawings. + Skilled in the use of structures and hand tools. + Knowledge of FAA regulations and their application. + Intermediate computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Mentoring or prior lead role experience is a plus. + FAA Airframe certification is advantageous. + Good interpersonal and communication skills. **Why Work Here?** Join a family-owned business with a supportive environment and long-term stability. Experience a 3-day weekend every week with our 4-day, 10-hour shift schedule. **Work Environment** The work environment is a family-owned shop with approximately 35 employees, where the owner remains actively involved. The team operates on a first shift from Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, and a second shift with a 4-day workweek. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomfield, Connecticut. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
