Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Metal Installer to join our team, specializing in the installation and construction of bulkheads, ceiling panels, doors and trim, windows, rails, hardware, and other related construction activities. The role involves working with large sheet metal pieces and components within Navy ships, ensuring compliance with Navy standards.

Responsibilities

Install and assemble large sheet metal pieces, valves, bulkheads, and internal components of Navy ships.Assist in the installation of insulation for compartment floors, ceilings, and interior/exterior walls.Work with Tac welding and sheet-metal pieces to position them before complete welding.Ensure installations meet Navy standards and accurately interpret blueprints.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in installation of bulkheads, ceiling panels, doors, windows, rails.Experience with sheet metal, HVAC, duct work, and ventilation systems.Ability to interpret and work from blueprints.Five or more years of marine sheet metal experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience working aboard a CVN Class Navy ship preferred.Marine sheet metal habitability experience is ideal.

Work Environment

The role requires working in a shipyard environment, focusing on mechanical and sheet metal fabrication tasks. Employees will need to adhere to Navy standards and utilize hand tools for installation duties.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract-To-Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.70 - $41.70/hr.
