Job Description
The Shear Operator is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Utilizing quality controls and safety standards along with preventive maintenance ensures the production of cost-effective products.
ResponsibilitiesPerform daily preventative maintenance on machines.Conduct first part inspections as well as in-process quality checks.Read and interpret blueprints accurately.Utilize specification sheets, blueprints, and work orders effectively.Layout and load materials using basic math and handheld measuring tools.Enter instructions into CNC machines, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.Essential Skills2+ years of manufacturing experience in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment.Proficiency in metalworking and hollow metal fabrication.Dexterity with manufacturing equipment, basic power tools, and machinery.Ability to read and understand specification sheets, blueprints, and work orders.Proficiency in computer output from CAD/CAM systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with shear press and press brake operations.Skill in sheet metal fabrication and saw operation.Work Environment
This position is performed in an industrial environment that requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
