Sewing Machine Operator
We’re looking for a skilled Sample Maker who can produce high‑quality prototypes with accuracy and efficiency. This role requires someone who can anticipate and troubleshoot potential production challenges, solve complex assembly issues, and fully understand how the final product is intended to function. **Responsibilities** + Provide hands‑on insight throughout the prototyping process to help the design team refine products for smooth large‑scale manufacturing and exceptional quality. + Construct backpack prototypes using design sketches, CAD-generated patterns, and detailed spec sheets. + Support the product team by recommending assembly techniques and assisting with sewing‑related issues. + Collaborate closely with patternmakers and product developers to communicate problems and solutions effectively. + Complete assigned projects within required timelines. + Review pattern sets to ensure accuracy and consistency. + Measure, evaluate, and document the quality of finished prototypes. + Keep the sample room, tools, and materials organized and maintained. + Perform general administrative tasks, including upkeep of shared workspaces, handling mail, and preparing packages for shipment. **Skills** + Sewing + Industrial sewing machine operation + Upholstery techniques + General upholstering + Sample or prototype construction **Top Skills** + Sewing + Upholstery + Sewing machine operation + Industrial sewing **Experience Level** Intermediate **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mansfield, MA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
