Job Title: Service TechnicianJob Description

The Service Technician plays a critical role in supporting our mission of delivering reliable, high-quality plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and water systems solutions. This position is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment at customer facilities throughout Michigan. The Service Technician serves as a trusted technical resource and represents our commitment to safety, integrity, and exceptional customer service.

ResponsibilitiesInstall, commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment.Perform inspection, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of pumps, hydronic and plumbing systems, HVAC, water pressure boosting, and fire protection systems.Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control issues.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.Provide on-site technical support to contractors, facility owners, consulting engineers, and end users.Complete detailed service documentation, reports, and recommendations accurately and in a timely manner.Ensure all work complies with safety standards, company policies, and applicable codes and regulations.Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding system conditions, repair options, timelines, and preventive maintenance recommendations.Support warranty service requests and coordinate with manufacturers as needed.Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current on equipment, controls, codes, and industry best practices.Collaborate with internal sales, engineering, and project teams to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term system performance.Essential SkillsMechanically inclined with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and HVAC/Plumbing knowledge.Comfortable working on construction jobsites and able to wear PPE such as steel toes, hard hat, glasses, and hi-vis clothing.3+ years of experience in HVAC or Plumbing.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with electrical systems (e.g., working with motor leads).Experience in construction, field service, hydraulics, electrical repair, troubleshooting, and power tools.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The position requires travel within a specific radius including GR, Kalamazoo, Jackson, TC, Muskegon, Berrien Springs, and Detroit, though travel to Detroit is rare. Work hours are from 7am to 4pm with 1-3 jobsite visits per day. The role is mostly indoors, focusing on mechanical rooms. Employees must provide their own steel-toed boots. We will provide hard hats, hi-vis clothing, and safety glasses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
